Thursday July 21 – Sunday July 24, 2005
Film and video are modern and powerful creative mediums. Film entertains,
educates, enlightens and can inspire us into action. The 1st Annual Plymouth
Independent Film Festival, July 21, 2005 through July 24, 2005 will host
filmmakers from near and far through screenings of unique, powerful and creative
films. In addition to a variety of Independent screenings, we will highlight
films focused on environmental and social issues – our two permanent yearly
themes. The festival will also host a variety of related media and technology
workshops, special performances and events, and FREE outdoor waterfront
screenings - all promoting and integrating local tourism and commerce, while
celebrating Plymouth’s own history, culture and arts.
Festival goals include:
- Initiate a film festival in Plymouth with the vision of a recurring annual
artistic event.
- Attract great, unique and powerful films.
- To entertain, enlighten and inspire audiences.
- Promote cultural diversity and environmental awareness through film, arts
and culture.
- Promote education through film, workshops and interaction.
